Nick van de Giesen is Professor of Water Resources Management at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences of Delft University of Technology. He is the leader of the Trans African Meteorological Observatory (TAHMO), a project partly funded by the International Centre for Frugal Innovation, which aims to build a dense network of hydro-meteorological monitoring stations in sub-Saharan Africa.

His work focuses on:

  • measuring and modeling complex water resources systems; and
  • developing science-based decision support systems.
