Dr. ir. J.C. Diehl

J.C. Diehl is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering of Delft University of Technology. He specializes in design for Sustainability, design for the Base of the Pyramid, and design for Cultural Differences. Within the International Centre for Frugal Innovation he is, amongst other things, the project leader of the Frugal Thermometer project together with Prof. dr. Ria Reis. Furthermore he is a member of the research team in the Responsible Entrepreneurship and Frugal Innovation project.

His research focuses on:

• the exchange and implementation of knowledge of sustainable product innovation in an international context;
• cultural differences in product design;
• developing products for the 'Base of the Pyramid (BoP)'.
